***UPDATE*** After fours years of having a guest house in Ethiopia we are closing our doors. It is bittersweet. We have enjoyed the guest home and the staff but look forward to new projects in Ethiopia that will be able to help even more. Thank you all for your support of the guest home and for all the visits. We are so grateful for the last four years and look forward to what the Lord has for the future!
At The James Initiative, we take sustainability seriously. Our first income-generating project is underway in Ethiopia; a guesthouse. This guesthouse will afford us the opportunity to get one step closer to complete independence from the need of outside donations and allow the local community to take care of the needs of the orphan without the anxiety of not knowing where the money will come from.
The Guesthouse is comprised of 20 bedrooms (3 master suites and 5 bedrooms in the main house and 12 guest quarters in the rear of the property), 12 full baths and 2 half baths (8 full baths and 2 half baths in the main house and 6 full baths in the guest quarter), 3 open living areas (one on each floor), two kitchens and an office. The house is located in a newer area of Addis with beautiful views of the mountains and the city and is about 20 minutes from the airport.
